Lead Wedding & Event Planner Wanted

ABC Events is growing, and we're searching for an experienced, highly motivated Lead Wedding & Event Planner to join our dynamic team! In this crucial role, you'll work directly with clients, turning their vision into reality from concept to flawless execution, all while supported by our Director of Events and assistant team.

Your Impact:

  • Lead the planning and execution of at least 10 weddings per year, with opportunities for additional events.

  • Provide exceptional 1:1 client service, guiding them through every step of their event journey.

  • Manage comprehensive event-day logistics, from setup to coordination and tear-down.

What You Bring:

  • Essential: Proven experience within the wedding, events, or hospitality sectors.

  • A professional, service-oriented demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.

  • Excellent organizational skills and an eagle eye for detail.

  • A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to follow SOPs and think critically.

  • Comfort working independently (remote work is key!) and leading others on event days.

  • Understanding of the dedication required for event coordination, including strict attendance on event days.

  • Physical stamina to be on your feet for extended periods (typical shifts 10 AM - 10 PM, up to 12 hours plus travel) and lift up to 30 lbs.

Logistics & Compensation:

  • This is a 1099 contractor role, paid per-event booked.

  • Flexible scheduling for remote pre-planning work and client meetings (phone/Google Meet, plus one on-site walkthrough).

  • Event days fall on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. We are happy to consider candidates with Saturday/Sunday-only availability.

  • Urgent emails require a 24-hour response time.

  • Participation in training events is required.

What You'll Do: As an Event Assistant, you'll be on the front lines, supporting our Lead Planners and Director of Events from setup to event coordination to tear-down. You can expect to work 4-10+ hours per event, plus travel. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift at least 30 lbs. Most events are within 90 minutes of York, PA, with some up to a 3-hour radius (overnight accommodations provided if needed).

What We're Looking For:

  • Reliable and highly motivated individuals with a dependable, professional attitude who enjoy being in service to others.

  • Self-starters who want to learn, can follow clear planning SOPs, and think critically.

  • Individuals who are great at logistics and attention to detail, able to work independently, at times with little direction.

  • An understanding of the dedication required for an event coordination career – you can't call off on an event day unless it's a true emergency.

  • Past experience in event management or hospitality is a plus but not required.

Work & Compensation:

  • This is an hourly 1099 contractor position, ensuring fair compensation for your time.

  • Events primarily fall on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. We are open to assistants with only Saturday/Sunday availability.

  • While not a guarantee, we try to schedule our assistants only one day per weekend and not every weekend during the busy season.

  • Attendance at training events is required.

Wedding Planner Content Creator

We're looking for a skilled Content Creator to help us share our story and build our brand presence across social media.

Position Summary: The Wedding Planner Content Creator will be an independent contractor responsible for capturing authentic, high-quality video content specifically designed for short-form social media platforms (e.g., Instagram Reels, TikTok). This role focuses on the "behind-the-scenes" journey of our wedding planners and event assistants, highlighting their expertise, dedication, and the intricate details of event execution. The ideal candidate will be a creative self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and a keen understanding of current social media trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • On-Site Content Capture: Attend designated wedding events (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with willingness for Saturday/Sunday-only availability) to capture raw footage of our wedding planners and assistants in action. This includes setup, coordination, vendor interactions, logistical execution, and tear-down.

  • Storytelling Focus: Identify and capture compelling moments that showcase the planning process, the teamwork, the atmosphere, and the unique elements of each wedding from the planner's perspective.

  • Content Creation & Editing: Utilize your own professional equipment and software to edit raw footage into engaging, trend-driven short-form video content (Reels/TikToks) optimized for various social media platforms.

  • Timely Delivery: Ensure all finalized video content is submitted within 48 hours of the event conclusion.

  • Platform Familiarity: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, features, and best practices on Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant social media platforms to maximize content reach and engagement.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the ABC Events team to understand content goals and brand aesthetics, ensuring all content aligns with our vision.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in creating engaging short-form video content for social media platforms (e.g., professional portfolio, personal accounts with strong examples).

  • Demonstrated familiarity with current social media trends and algorithms for Reels and TikTok.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to strict deadlines.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a creative eye for compelling visuals and narratives.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and ensure prompt delivery.

  • Possession of professional-grade equipment (smartphone, camera, lighting, audio, etc.) and editing software necessary for high-quality video production.

  • Reliable transportation for travel to event locations. Events are mostly within 90 minutes of York, PA, but some require a 3-hour radius drive. Overnight accommodations will be provided for distant events if needed.

  • Understanding of the demands of event environments, including being on your feet for extended periods (4-10+ hours per event) and the ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications (but not required):

  • Previous experience in the wedding or events industry required.
